Midwest Flooding Continues To Worsen As Days Pass:

Why this story isn't receiving more attention is beyond me. Look at it, folks, the photograph says it all. The flood damage is certainly nearing or on par with that of Katrina and her toll on the Gulf Coast. Yet there is no call for help, for donations, for prayers or assistance to those folks displaced by this incident. Nothing.

Flood Waters Continue To Take Their Toll On Iowa:

Thousands were forced to leave their homes in the worst Midwest flooding in 15 years.

Look at all of that mud! The entire town is currently 'off-limits'.

Floods Drench Indiana And The Entire Midwest Is Under Water:

As much as 11 inches of rain swamped the state Saturday, flooding homes, threatening dams and closing several roads and highways. Weekend storms pounded the U.S. from the Midwest to the East Coast, forcing hundreds of people to flee flooded communities, spawning tornadoes that tore up houses and killing at least five people.

This is what happens when you get way too close. Not quite as powerful as the mile-wide tornado that ripped through Colorado but still impressive. There's a decent chance the mid-west will see a few more like this today. Keep an eye out for more bad weather.

Windsor was hit by a mile-wide tornado around lunch time, and at least one person died as the twister carved a swath of destruction through Weld County.

Colorado State Trooper Ryan Sullivan said the tornado caused multiple crashes and multiple injuries on highways in Weld County.

The Weld County coroner's office has confirmed at least one death. The man was a resident at a campground outside Greeley, the county said in a statement.

Weld County Sheriff's Cmdr. Ken Poncelow said "dozens of houses and dozens of cars" were badly damaged and that several semis were rolled off U.S. 85 north of Gilcrest.

This was the 'mammoth' tornado we discussed yesterday. The Denver Post has an amazing collection of photos and video from the scene. The storm left behind an impressive swath of destruction and luckily the death toll still stands, at least for now, at one.

As The Rain Falls Outside - Chicago Has It Much Worse:

DENVER -- A powerful tornado touched in Weld County Thursday, moving through the towns of Windsor, Gilcrest and Milliken, about 45 miles north of Denver and killing at least one person.

According to Weld Commissioner Dave Long, the death was reported near the missile silo park near Colo. 257 near 10th Street in west Greeley. That is according to the Greeley Tribune.

A second storm that followed also produced at least one tornado.

This is happening in real time... the size of the tornado was astounding in a live shot I was watching on MSNBC. It's raining here in West Palm Beach, FL and the lightning is crashing as I type this but it's nothing compared to what Colorado is dealing with. By all means this was a 'mammoth' tornado. Former Weather Channel Employee Alleges Sexual Harassment:

MAY 6--As The Weather Channel's owner negotiates a multibillion-dollar sale of the cable outlet, the network's lawyers are angling to keep secret the details of a blistering arbitration ruling in favor of a former anchorwoman who charges that she was subjected to unrelenting sexual harassment by her male co-anchor, who was "romantically obsessed" with her and frequently made crude remarks like, "Will you lick my swizzle stick?"

Hillary Andrews, 38, contends that the cable network's brass turned a blind eye to the harassment because her co-anchor, Bob Stokes, was popular with viewers and scored high ratings. According to recent court filings, Andrews won her arbitration case three months ago and the final ruling was "highly critical of conduct by both Stokes and TWC management."

The network is now seeking to keep details of the arbitrator's 17-page report secret,

The details are quite damning and this Stokes character is a creep.

Massive Cyclone Causes Widespread Damage In Myanmar:

YANGON, Myanmar - Almost 4,000 people were killed and nearly 3,000 others are unaccounted for after a devastating cyclone in Myanmar, a state radio station said Monday.

Tropical Cyclone Nargis hit the Southeast Asian country, also known as Burma, early Saturday with winds of up to 120 mph. The cyclone blew roofs off hospitals and schools and cut electricity in Myanmar's largest city, Yangon.

The numbers are all over the place here. Inside sources are expecting the death toll to surpass 10,000. More than 100,000 have been left homeless and I am once again reminded of idiocy in the media. Let's not forget, just months ago, when monks were being slaughtered by the government in this same country, we were referring to Myanmar as Burma. Now it's Myanmar across the board and the plight of the monks is all but forgotten. Sure, the celebrity crowd has jumped on the bandwagon but the story is no longer dominating headlines. Will it take the tragedy of this massive cyclone to once again put Myanmar/Burma in the spotlight?

A Suffolk County Resident Captures Incoming Tornado On Video:

SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) — Southern Virginia residents will be assessing the damage today from yesterday's tornadoes that left more than 200 people hurt. Gov. Tim Kaine has declared a state of emergency in some areas. He will be touring the hardest hit regions today.
