Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Wants To Be The Next Martyr:

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba — The accused mastermind of the worst terror attack in U.S. history told a Guantanamo Bay military judge Thursday that he wants to be put to death.

Marine Col. Ralph Kohlmann told the Al Qaeda leader that he could face the death penalty if convicted. Mohammed's response:

"Yes, this is what I wish, to be a martyr for a long time. I will, God willing, have this, by you."

The former No. 3 leader of Al Qaeda and four alleged co-conspirators were being arraigned Thursday in their long-awaited first appearance before a war-crimes tribunal. All five face death if convicted of war crimes including murder, conspiracy, attacking civilians and terrorism in the 2001 attacks, which killed 2,973 people.

Mohammed wore thick glasses and a turban and stroked a bushy gray beard, in stark contrast to the disheveled hair, unshaven face and T-shirt he wore when he was captured in Pakistan in 2003.

Case closed. I say we give the man what he's asking for...

At Least 14 Wounded As Rocket Rips Through Israeli Mall:

At least 14 people were wounded Wednesday evening, including a mother and her three-year-old daughter, when a Grad rocket fired from Gaza hit the Hutzot Shopping Center in Ashkelon.

The rocket ripped through the roof of the mall, causing a large chunk of the roof to collapse in a huge pile of rubble and twisted metal. Four windows were blown out of the side of the building. The top floor of the building, which bore the brunt of the attack, is where offices and clinics are located.

A hospital official said a woman and her young daughter were seriously wounded, along with another child. Another woman was seriously wounded, and several other people were lightly wounded, said the official, Leah Malul of Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.

Israeli officials appear to setting up for an aggressive response.

The President Of Iran Calls The 9/11 Attacks Suspicious:

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cast doubt Wednesday over the U.S. version of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, calling it a pretext used to invade Afghanistan and Iraq.

Though Iran has condemned the Al Qaeda attacks on New York and Washington in the past, this was the third time in a week Ahmadinejad questioned the death toll, who was behind the attacks and how it happened.

"Four or five years ago, a suspicious event occurred in New York. A building collapsed and they said that 3,000 people had been killed but never published their names," Ahmadinejad told Iranians in the holy city of Qom.

Congratulations Jesse Ventura, you have some company in your 9/11 conspiracy club. This isn't the first time Ahmadinejad has cast doubt on the official 9/11 story. Hell, this isn't the first time he's cast doubt on a well documented massacre. Ahmadinejad doesn't believe the U.S. was attacked on 9/11, he doesn't believe the holocaust ever occurred and he doesn't believe that Israel has the right to exist. By the way, Ahmadinejad, here's a list of the 9/11 victim's names.

Pentagon Releases Memo Justifying Harsh Interrogation Tactics:

The Pentagon has released a declassified 2003 Justice Department memo that claimed the president's wartime authority trumps any international ban on torture, and concluded that the Fifth and Eighth amendments do not apply to foreign prisoners held outside the country.

The memo, released by the Pentagon, was written by Justice Department lawyer John Yoo in March 2003. He has since left the agency.

The memo was rescinded in December 2003, about nine months after Yoo sent it to top Pentagon lawyer William J. Haynes II.

Due To Prison Overcrowding, Two Terrorists Go Free In England:

Two convicted terrorists have been released early under a controversial Government scheme to ease prison over-crowding, ministers have been forced to admit.

One is a radical muslim cleric - Yassin Nassari, 29 - who was caught trying to smuggle blueprints on how to build a missile into Britain.

As if Europe doesn't have enough problems related to the spread of radical Islam, now these two loons are on the loose. I'd like to believe this wouldn't fly in America but something tells me I'm wrong.
