There's a chance that this could be a parody of the video but I seriously doubt it. There has already been one fake 'Denver' video but this one looks exactly like the leaked image. The fact that a seemingly completely sane man could be convinced of the existence of aliens after watching this is beyond me.

The Wait Is Over - Here Is The Detroit Alien Video:

A few minutes of grainy, black and white video show a shadowy creature with big eyes peeping over a windowsill. But does it show a puppet or an alien from outer space?

The video, purportedly capturing proof of alien life, was released this morning during a press conference at the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria campus in downtown Denver.

Over the course of three minutes or so, the footage shows a white creature with a balloon-shaped head that keeps popping up and down in a windowsill that was 8 feet above ground. The face was white, with large black eyes that seemed to blink.

It looks pretty convincing for a low rent operation! Seriously, I'm not buying it but it's certainly worthy of the hype. What do you think? Is it a puppet or a bonafide space freak?

OK, so the video above isn't real. It's just a mock up of what the alien is supposed to look like on the tape. Below is an actual frame from the video. The video above was actually created to prove that you can quickly fake alien videos. It was created in one day with a budget of $90.

Purported UFO Video To Be Shown Friday In Denver, Colorado:

A video that purportedly shows a living, breathing space alien will be shown to the news media Friday in Denver.

Jeff Peckman, who is pushing a ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver to prepare the city for close encounters of the alien kind, said the video is authentic and convinced him that aliens exist.

"As impressive as it is, it's still one tiny portion in the context of a vast amount of peripheral evidence," he said Wednesday. "It's really the final visual confirmation of what you already know to be true having seen all the other evidence."

When Peckman went before city officials this month to discuss his proposed ET initiative, he promised to show the video.

Peckman said the general public will have to wait to see it because it's being included in a documentary by Stan Romanek.

Jeff Peckman just looks straight up crazy so I'm not inclined to believe him right off the bat. Additionally, how ridiculous is it that the 'public' won't be able to see the footage until the movie comes out? Is this a publicity stunt for a documentary that they are shopping or an actual concern for alien life?

"It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera," he said. The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said earlier this month.

In a statement, Peckman said "other related credible evidence" proving aliens exist will be shown at Friday's news conference, too.

Really? Your best evidence is from an infrared camera? The documentary that they are clearly trying to sell was made by Stan Romanek. One peek at his website and you'll get a better idea of where this story is headed. I think that 'Alien Autopsy' joke that Fox ran a few years back had more promise...

NASA Lander 'Phoenix' Outfitted With CD From Earth:



The photo above shows the base of 'Phoenix' which is outfitted with a disc labeled 'Messages from Earth'. The date is 2007 so if any creatures loaded up with CDROMs stumble upon the lander they may be a bit behind the times. Here are some more details...

Attached to the deck of the lander (next to the US Flag) is "The Phoenix DVD", compiled by the Planetary Society. The disc contains Visions of Mars, a multimedia collection of literature and art about the Red Planet. Works include the text of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds (and its infamous radio broadcast by Orson Welles), Percival Lowell's Mars as the Abode of Life with a map of his proposed canals, Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles, and Kim Stanley Robinson's Green Mars. There are also messages directly addressed to future Martian visitors or settlers from, among others, Carl Sagan and Arthur C. Clarke. In 2006, The Planetary Society collected a quarter million names submitted through the internet and placed them on the disc, which claims, on the front, to be "the first library on Mars".

The Phoenix DVD is made of a special silica glass designed to withstand the Martian environment, lasting for hundreds (if not thousands) of years on the surface while it awaits discoverers.

Awesome. But isn't 'War of the Worlds' a bit much?

Amazing. NASA was able to launch a small vehicle from Earth to Mars, some 170 million miles away. They predicted the area where it would land, pulled off a spectacular landing and 15 minutes later images from Mars were transmitted back to Earth. The landing was captured by a different satellite launched some time ago that is now orbiting the planet. Is anyone else blow away by this?

NASA's Phoenix Spacecraft Successfully Lands On Mars:

PASADENA, Calif. - NASA's Phoenix spacecraft has successfully landed near Mars' north pole for a 90-day digging mission.

Mission control at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory celebrated after the Phoenix Mars Lander signaled back that it had survived Sunday's fiery entry.

Phoenix will be the first spacecraft to study the Martian arctic plains. Unlike NASA's mobile twin rovers, the lander will stay in one spot. It will use its robotic arm to dig into the permafrost to determine if the polar environment has the ingredients needed for life to emerge.

Endeavour Returned Safely To Earth On Wednesday Evening:

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The space shuttle Endeavour returned safely to earth on Wednesday evening, completing a record-breaking 16-day mission to the International Space Station.

The shuttle landed at 8:39 p.m., roughly an hour after the shuttle’s commander, Capt. Dominic L. Gorie, fired twin braking rockets that brought the spacecraft out of orbit.

Mission managers canceled the day’s first landing opportunity, which would have brought the Endeavour to the runway at 7:05 p.m.; clouds threatened to obscure the site. After consulting with weather officers and Captain Gorie, however, the managers determined that conditions were improving by the time the second opportunity of the day came around and ordered Captain Gorie to bring the shuttle out of orbit and bring it and its crew of seven astronauts down to the 15,000-foot landing strip at the Kennedy Space Center.

The Space Program never ceases to amaze me. Never.
