Richard Quest, CNN's British Reporter, Was Arrested Last Night:
Richard Quest, a reporter and business travel specialist for CNN International, is being arraigned today on a misdemeanor charge of drug possession after the authorities said he was found with methamphetamine in Central Park.
Mr. Quest was arrested early Friday morning after being escorted out of Central Park for violating the park curfew, a law enforcement official said Friday. The park is closed from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The police noticed Mr. Quest at 64th Street and West Drive at about 3:40 a.m., the official said. As he was being escorted out, he volunteered, “I have meth in my pocket,” according to an official briefed on the case. The police searched him and recovered a small amount of methamphetamine in a Ziploc bag.
I guess Quest has never watched the Montana Meth Project spots. Really, this is quite disturbing. This isn't some crazy, bored kid in Montana. It's a prominent reporter for a major broadcasting corporation. This guy has it all. Yet somehow the drug got the better of him. Quest is an openly gay reporter and he's also a major contributer to CNN International. Now, we wait for the mugshot.

I had never heard of the guy, but as soon as I read the story and looked at his pic, I knew what the story was. It doesn't take a genius to realize this guy was out for some gay cruising. Anyone who knows NYC knows the deal, even if they are not part of that scene.
I guess since he was a travel expert, he knew about all of the cruising hotsposts around the world. Maybe he can do a report on that.
What is very funny is that the code I have to type in is "gaqvd". If you changed one letter, it would be "gay vd". LOL. Sorry I couldn't resist.
Re the travel expertise of Richard Quest: In March 2003 Budget Travel magazine published an article I wrote about "Tooth Tourism," ie the practice of foreign visitors going to Hungary for dental work that costs a fraction of what their home dentists charge. In my article I mentioned the explosion of dental practices in the town of Sopron, and interviewed one of the dentists there at some length.
Several months later, I received a call from a researcher from CNN International, who was referred to me by the new EIC of the magazine. She questioned me in great detail about my research, which I agreed to do, thinking that I would be cited as a source in the CNN piece.
I never heard from CNN again, and when I finally saw their piece on their website, I noticed an interview with the same dentist I talked to, and had other similarities to my original article.
I understand Mr Quest has agreed to the order of a New York judge to undergo six months of counseling. If the counseling is related to the "controlled substance" Quest was charged with possessing, apologies to people he has wronged in the past is usually part of rehab. I await his call.
Here's another thing:
anyone notice that this guy's name is DICK QUEST...and THATS WHAT HE WAS DOING in Central Park!!!!
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!
Some more information about Mr. Quest:
(emphasis mine, PG)
CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot, law-enforcement sources said.
All trussed up with no place to go, I guess.
